I had a frightening dream the other night.
I was the person I used to be back during my marriage. My husband had installed a two-tap sink in the bathroom. I turned on the right spigot and clean water gushed out.
I turned on the left spigot and raw sewage began to spew from it. I jumped back, screaming. I didn’t know what to do. I couldn’t figure out how to stop the flow. I turned the handle to the off position and the flow became even worse. Regardless of which
I woke up with a slight scream from the nightmare.
Any thoughts on what it could mean?
Sometimes garbage from our pasts shows up in unexpected ways and places?
Regardless of what may have caused Annie’s dream: Linda ‘s right! Garbage from ones past does show up in unexpected ways, times and places!
Annie: could it be that you’re feeling quiet overwelmed and not as much in control as you would like to be?
Lots of love,
Carolina

Anywho, I have a quick thought about your dream. There is beauty in it and a bit of caution.
The beauty is this. You have access to that clear clean flow….it’s pure and beautiful and yours and it is good and abundant. It gushed forth on demand. It was what you needed. It will continue to gush forth whenever you need it and immediately upon your personal demand.
The other tap from which the “snit” flowed was something you left behind….it’s undesirable. That dark flow was something you learned about a long time ago….and still have the capacity to choose if you wish. The cautionary part is that perhaps you need to know that if you go back to that darkness, that it will be more difficult than it used to be, to get away from. Perhaps God is encouraging you to think carefully about a certain opportunity in life that has presented itself to you.
You have the capacity to choose either tap. The good part is that the choice will be clear….there are only two taps in your dream.
…………..
peace,

Here are the results that I got from an online dream symbol dictionary based upon everything that you shared:
To dream that you are in the bathroom relates to your instinctual urges. You may be experiencing some burdens/feelings and need to “relieve yourself”. Alternatively, a bathroom symbolizes purification and self-renewal. You need to cleanse yourself, both emotionally and psychologically.
To see a faucet in your dream signifies control of your emotions. You are conscious of what emotions you allow yourself to be expressed. In other words, you have great self control and an ability to turn your emotions on and off at will. If the water is too hot or too cold, then it may be analogous to a situation or relationship in your waking life.
To dream that you cannot turn the faucet on or that no water comes out of the faucet indicates that you need to be more careful when offering emotional support as your may be overextending yourself. Alternatively, it may also be indicative of sadness and depression.
To see a leaky or dripping faucet in your dream represents sexual issues and problems. Alternatively, the dream suggests that you are feeling emotionally drained. Something or someone is draining your emotionally.
To dream that you are in a panic indicates a lack of control and power in your life. You are feeling helpless in some situation or unable to make a clear decision. Calm down.
To see a water pipe in your dream indicates that you are open and receptive to new ideas. It may also represent your connections to those around you. You are able to steer something toward a direction.
To see plumbing in your dream symbolizes the flow of emotions. If the plumbing is clogged up, then it signifies repressed or pent up emotions that needs to be released and expressed. Seeing plumbing may also be a metaphor for your body and its internal working. Thus the dream may point to health concerns.
To see sewage in your in dream represents your rejected or shameful emotions. It also symbolic of low esteem.
To see a sink in your dream represents your feelings and your ability to control your emotions. You may need to cleanse yourself of past feelings and start fresh. Consider also the common phrase “everything but the kitchen sink” which refers to a situation where you have almost everything that you can possible want or need. The symbol may also be a pun on “sinking” or drowning.
To see water in your dream symbolizes your subconscious and your emotional state of mind. Water is the living essence of the psyche and the flow of life energy. It is also symbolic of spirituality, knowledge, healing and refreshment. To dream that water is boiling suggests that you are expressing some emotional turmoil. Feelings from your subconscious are surfacing and ready to be acknowledged. You need to let out some steam.
To see calm, clear water in your dream means that you are in tune with your spirituality. It denotes serenity, peace of mind, and rejuvenation.
To see muddy or dirty water in your dream indicates that you are wallowing in your negative emotions. You may need to take some time to cleanse your mind and find internal peace. Alternatively, the dream suggests that your thinking/judgment is unclear and clouded. If you are immersed in muddy water, then it indicates that you are in over your head in a situation and are overwhelmed by your emotions.
At least it was just a dream and you didn’t have to clean it up.
I would like to point out that the faulty faucet was installed by your (ex)husband. And I would also like to point out that you said that in the dream you “felt like you did when you were married.” When we humans have overwhelming negative emotions, we shut down and basically save the emotions to process later when we are in a safer space. You have accomplished that-you are in a safer space. And now the negative emotions from before are bubbling up (metaphor intended) so that you may process them and release the energy that was expended to hold onto them toward a more positive purpose. Best of luck in your healing process. Fawn
Water represents life.
You were in control of the good pure clear water. You were not in control of the foul water.
Life is a balance of light and dark. Allowing more clarity and light into your life will enable you to wash away the murky darkness, but first you must see it in a safe place.
Welcome clear and positive thoughts through meditation and prayer. This will strengthen you to clear out the negative (whether it be old thoughts or emotions, or current difficulties).
