The Power of Small Things

It’s been a long couple of weeks. A relative went from being fine to dead with cancer. I practically lived by her side during her last days.

We began the process of going through her things today. A little dog was laying in her chair, waiting for her to come home as I entered.

He latched onto me, hopping into my lap and clinging to my side. I guess he smelled my dogs on me and decided that I was kewel.

In time he told me he had to go potty so I leashed him up and took him outside.

He pranced and danced as he took me around that yard. The way he looked at me, I got the impression that he was showing me around.

Giving him pleasure lightened my heart.

It’s the little things that matter.
